Twinkle Toes

Twinkle light pictures to match these twinkle toe shoes. One of my favorite purchases yet. I'm loving the casual, comfy looks lately, and these shoes take any outfit up a notch.

I bought this bomber recently from a store I never thought I'd be shopping at again... Abercrombie! I'm loving their spring clothes right now, too. In my shopping cart currently is this chambray dress, this eyelet top, and this shift dress for spring! Everything is pretty reasonable, plus they're usually having a good sale.

Happy Hump Day, everyone! Here's to being one step closer to the weekend. :)

Tips To Stay Motivated

Do you ever lose motivation to get your sweat on? I've been there. But over time I've found what keeps me going, so I compiled a few tips that help me stay on track when I'm feeling unmotivated.

1. Don't do sh*t you hate.
I can't tell you how many times I have done a workout program or diet because it's a fad, it's what all of my friends are doing, or it's what worked for someone else. Well, I've learned that everyone's bodies respond to things differently. So I'm not going to put myself through something that I absolutely hate, but my girlfriends love. Instead, I want to find what makes me happy and does good for my body.

2. Don't get in to too much of a routine.
Switch up your workouts. Find a few different workouts that you love. That way you'll never get stuck in a rut. I've found that when I do the same thing, at the same time, every single day, I get bored and quickly lose motivation. By having a few different workouts in my back pocket, it makes it easy to stay on track and get excited about fitness.

3. Make it a lifestyle.
I find myself choosing to be active all the time. Take the stairs, not the elevator. Park far away, not in the front spot. Take a walk over lunch, don't stay sitting down all day long. All of these little choices add up and make it easy to think of my health and well being with every choice that I need to make.

4. Don't be too hard on yourself.
I am still guilty of this and it's something I'm working on. I used to feel terrible about eating a piece of chocolate, or ordering a burger WITH the bun... But I've learned that the 80/20 rule is what you need to live by. You aren't perfect. You will never be perfect. If you want chocolate, eat the dang chocolate and don't regret it! Listen to your body, what it's craving and just don't overdo it.

Spring Casual + MPLS Favorites

I've always lived in Minneapolis, but with my new job being downtown, I'm able to explore the city way more often than I've ever been able to. And I'm loving it.

My favorite part of town lately has been North Loop. There's so many cute restaurants, shops and things to do -- all within a short walk. One of my favorite dinner spots lately has been Red Rabbit. It's by the same people who own the Red Cow restaurants (which I also love.. the best turkey burgers ever) and they have done a phenomenal job. The vibe is super trendy and the food is outstanding (the pasta croquettes are to die for).

When I need a coffee break, I find myself regularly at The Bachelor Farmer Cafe and Spyhouse Coffee. Both spaces are so bright and have delicious coffee and treats.

Other places I'm loving in Minneapolis: Crisp & Green (just opened and I've been 5x), Young Joni (they have a secret prohibition-style speakeasy behind that is a must see!), Hola Arepa (all-time fave), Birchwood Cafe (just google their waffles), Victor's Cafe (authentic Cuban! Yum!), and Surly (brewery with amazing food). There's so much food in Minneapolis and so little time for it all. On my to-try list are: Alma, Tullibee, and Esker Grove.

Any other Minneapolis friends have recommendations?

Black Floral Swing Dress

Photos: Trish Allison Photography | Old Nay Swing Dress | Booties (old, cute ones here) | Sugarfix Earrings

Have I mentioned that I'm eagerly anticipating spring weather? Well, it finally feels spring enough to ditch the tights and wear floral prints. YAY!

This swing dress is only $22 at Old Navy right now. They have it in a few other patterns if flowers aren't your thing.

I'm also loving peep toe booties. I bought these last year on super sale, but have found a few similar herehere, here and here

YAY for transitioning closets!

Studio to Street Athleisure

As we are gearing up for the weekend, I'm thinking about my plans -- which include workout and brunch (can you say basic?). I'm always looking for a cute transitional outfit that I can wear from gym to street and this is one of my favorites.

This Free People Hoodie is so comfortable and has that awesome cut out detail on the back. It's perfect to throw on after the gym to make yourself look like you're put together, no matter how hard the sweat sesh just was.

Also, we need to talk about sports bras. Let's just say I look for good support. I have three of these Lululemon sports bras because they stay in place when I workout, AND come in a ton of different colors and patterns.

Where do you all like to buy your workout wear? I'm always looking to stock up my workout drawer. :)

Vibrant Tie Blouse

Happy Monday! As I mentioned in my last post, I've been waiting and waiting for spring to arrive in Minneapolis... Well, we hit over 50 degrees this weekend! I immediately packed up all of my sweaters and boots and made room for my spring and summer wardrobe. Now, fingers crossed that it stays like this...

Anyways, I found this fun, patterned tie blouse for spring and love pairing it with this lacey bralette. Throw on some slip on Vans, and you have an easy, put together, casual look for spring.

Have a great week, everyone!

Canadian Tuxedo

Photos: Trish Allison Photography | BlankNYC Jacket | Sundry Tee | Paige Denim | Sam Edelman Booties | Clare V Clutch

This. JacketI love love love it. It's going to be my go-to jacket in the coming warm months. Every morning I wake up and I pray for warm weather so I can wear it. That hasn't been the case lately, unfortunately, but fingers crossed for mother nature to change her mind quickly!

I frequently rock the denim on denim. It's always been a look that I embrace -- hey hey Canadian Tux. :) These boyfriend jeans are so comfortable, plus I have a thing for light wash lately.

I've posted them a few times on my Instagram, but I also am loving these new booties. They go with everything I own and are so comfortable for long, busy days.

Hope you all are having an awesome week! XO
